Hey!

Basically, I thought that, since so many of us are learning other languages, this would be a good way for us to make "pen" pals. I've said "pen" because, personally, I think it would be a great help to be able to talk (i.e. through the use of a microphone), instead of writing.

So, I'll start!

I'm looking for a Russian "pen" pal, who has an Instant Messenger and a microphone. My Russian is very bad, but I'm really committed and looking to improve! So, I would love to be able to speak basic Russian on occasions with a real Russian, so to improve my accent/pronounciation.

Also, I'd like to learn more about modern Russia! Culture, politics, news etc.

I can help anybody with English, German and French. (The latter to a relatively mediocre standard.)

Would be so greatful if anyone can help!!

I'm looking for a Russian pen pal also, because I really would like to improve my Russian language. At the moment, I'm already taking a Russian course in my city and I understand basic conversation and able to make simple sentences, but maybe with wrong grammar here and there

Overall, I love t.A.T.u., video gaming and Russian culture of course, especially the food ... Borsch, Bef Stroganov, Otbivnaya Boyarskaya, Blin ... yum ....

So, would you be my penpal?

Actually, it's a great idea indeed. I would love to have French pen pal, since I've learned French, but had very little opportunities to use it. I can help people with their Russian and Hebrew if you like as well

Yeah, skype is good for voice conferencing ... Though sometimes mine would be really lagging cause my internet get too slow ...

I installed skype only recently and I didn't used it before.
Also I can speak by microphone only in night time (in West Siberian timezone )

I'm not entirely interested in meeting anyone that speaks russian fluently, but someone who is also learning russian! I'd rather learn with someone than on my own, so if any one of the people who has responded to this thread that is interested in learning, send me a PM... (I plan on getting a microphone soon, as my cat chewed the wire on the old one, and I have no idea on SKYPE, I usually used yahoo or something...)

Of course, I'd love to try an actual penpal, with the paper and pen (It's so much more meaningful), but I don't even want to imagine what it would cost to send a letter to Russia!
